Happy Christams, Everyone!

Here is the Buche de Noel I made for our Christmas party this year but because it is Christmas day, I’m not posting the recipe for one simple reason: I haven’t committed
the recipe to paper yet. Not because it didn’t turn out, but because I’m giving myself a lazy day and not going overboard with work.

But this baby is as good as it looks. A rich chocolate cake with mint chocolate mousse, covered in a fresh, heavenly light Italian meringue icing, decorated with French meringue mushrooms and marzipan holly leaves and berries, this was the show stopper!

And to my delight, everyone tried it and no one believed me when I told them that I made it. I love it when that happens. I also made my Rosa Suhm Coconut Date Macaroons and a buttermilk cookie I’ve been playing around with lately, and an over the top holiday cake that has just about every single kind of dried fruit in it.

Basically, I’ve been baking non-stop for DAYS. No, not off and on, but DAYS because as I was waiting for one recipe to finish up in the oven, I’d start experimenting along the way (a by-product of my impatience).

So the future holds many new wonderful recipes and I hope everyone who has supported me along the way will keep coming back for more…

Luckily for me, even Santa showed a little support…

I’ll post the recipe in the next couple of days, but in the meantime, Happy Holidays, Everyone!
