Hello all! Today I’m off to explore the gluten free culinary delights and the wellspring of art in Paris and Amsterdam for a few days and I’m nervous as a school girl!
Walking through the streets of Paris has a very calming effect and I’m dying to absorb all the inspiration that awaits me, making me a better baker, if not a better person.
Most of all, though, I cannot wait to see the Van Gough Museum in Amsterdam as he is one of my absolute favorite artists of all time. However, the Netherlands is also the home of the Northern Renaissance which gave birth to oil painting (that’s right! the Northern Renaissance pre-dates the High Renaissance of Italy and France(1501-1590)) thanks to the early pioneers and masters, like Jan van Eyck (1390-1441).
Art history aside, my main focus, of course, will be the food and I cannot wait to report back my findings…
