I’ve Turned the Corner

I’ve turned the corner as they say. Picked up the pieces of my heart that were strewn all over the street like papers scattered by a sudden gust of wind. I can feel it beating, quiet yet determined, slowly but full of purpose.

Today I’m pulling my apron back over my head and fixing it about my waist to see if I still have what it takes in the kitchen. It’s been so long since I’ve created a new recipe, I’m almost a bit sheepish. I’ve gone to each of my appliances and ardently apologized for neglecting them.

And I have been working like crazy. I’ve still been making my cookies for Emerald City Press and I’ve catered several events during this maelstrom you’ve borne witness to. Even better, though, is the growth I’ve experienced in my yoga practice. I’m unfurling daily. The rocks I worked so hard to build up around me are crumbling away and sunlight is piercing through the cracks and crevices…

I feel myself actualizing.
