The Birth of Blackbird Bakery

Well, well, well, it’s official. I’ve lost my mind and gone ahead and decided to start my own business vending to local businesses while catering special events on the side. Last Thursday was my induction party and it was nothing short of successful. There was a HUGE turnout and I even managed to get a few jobs out of the experience, so I’m happy as a lark right now. Overwhelmed but over the moon.

After the party, the weekend was devoted to the Austin City Limits Music Festival and it was off the hook! Met so many dynamic people and even managed to run into a few celebrities along the way. Uma Thurman was the most gorgeous creature in person, I’m pretty sure she caught me staring; Elijah Wood was very cute in a gnom-ish sort of way and Eryka Badhu was one hot mama! (Yes, she’s pregnant!!!!)

I’ve been slammed with business, thank heaven, and will be out in LA October 12-15 catering a special event for LA Fashion week, so, I guess you could say my head has been spontaneously combusting every few hours these last few days.


Anyhow, all I can do now is thank my lucky stars, because they are shining!
