The Passing of a Health Care Titan

Senator Edward Kennedy134

My immense sadness over the death of Senator Kennedy stems from the fact that he persevered on the issue of health care, which, as we all know, is in dire straights. Right now, we are spending $2.5 trillion dollars on health care per year which is 17.6% of our GDP (Gross Domestic Product).

I don’t know about you, but I would much rather see our very hard earned dollars go towards education and the empowerment of the American people rather than into the thickly lined pockets of insurance and pharmaceutical companies.

Senator Kennedy saw this, knew this, and did something about it. Let us hope that his very inspirational career paved the way for changes that we will see in this lifetime.
