I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!!!! I SPENT THE WHOLE DAY YESTERDAY TRYING TO FIND A 1 QUART CHARLOTTE MOLD AND THERE WASN’T A SINGLE ONE IN ALL OF AUSTIN!!!!!

The people at Williams Sonoma didn’t even know what one was, the people at Sur La Table knew what one was but didn’t have them, Ace Restuarant Supply didn’t know what one was either, but after a gentle explaination, they too didn’t have one. I was told a little place called the All In One Bake Shop would have them, but hey too didn’t carry my elusive charlotte mold.

At first my head exploded with frustration and then Tim told me it was too esoteric an item for Austin and that made me more mad because where the F*** is the state of baking in this town? Have people become soooo used to the same old shit on every single menu when they go out to ENJOY themselves?? What ever happened to VARIETY?

OOOO my blood was close to boiling and my guts and liver were quivering with disgust when I realized that there were other ways to get what I needed and decided to try to find one on-line. But seriously, how SAD!
Again, HOW SAAAAD, ya’ll!!!!

First of all, Williams Sonoma used to have a standard of supplying SPECIALTY items that could not be found anywhere else to chefs and now they have employees who don’t even know what a charlotte mold is! I hate to say this, but REALLY PATHETIC.

Yet another example of a good store gone bad. Williams Sonoma, you’ve become what you vowed to be set apart from. You are now officially corporate whores!

The long and short of it is, my next recipe has been put on hold until I recieve my precious charlotte mold.

Aside from that, have a wonderful Sunday, ya’ll!
